Your wedding day is the most important day of your life.  Your wedding album is the first item you will aquire together as a married couple and will stay with you forever.  These photos must be memorable.  I believe in working with the families by talking to them and finding out what they are looking for and combining their ideas with my expertise.  Traditionally, once the wedding ceremony has finished, then the photos begin.  Posed pictures of family, friends, bride & groom, groomsmen, brides maids, etc.  Which is fine for an hour of so, but not all night.  I believe in combining traditional wedding photos with a contemporary photo journalistic approach.

Typically I  like to arrive early before the ceremony and shoot candid photos of the bride and groom.  The beautiful bride looking into the mirror, the look on the face of the nervous groom.  Capturing the pictures that tell a story of your special day.  The ceremony is equally as important.  The look in the grooms face as he sees the bride for the first time in her dress, the proud father of the bride as he clutches her hand just before he gives her away.  All of which can only be captured by a Professional Photographer, who is fast on his feet and knows exactly what to look for.  It is these photos that you will not get from a friend or family member who has volunteered to shoot your wedding for "cheap".

After the ceremony a lot of emotions are going on.  Lots of crying, smiling, hugs, etc.  Once again, you have to be fast enough to photograph that giant hug from grandma who flew in from California for your special day.  A lot of candid photos are taken at this point.  After the stir has died down, It's time for the traditional group photos of the bride and groom, brides maids, groomsmen, friends, family, and anyone else the bride and groom would like. 
AND FUN PHOTOS ARE A MUST!!

I don't put a specific time limit on posed photos.  However, it is important for the newlyweds to have a good time at their wedding. 

Once the group photos are finished and everyone sits down to eat, I will start on my own, capturing candid moments and pulling aside couples with their children for a "Quick Photo" for the bride and groom's wedding album.

When the bride & groom have finished eating is when the real fun begins.  Toasting, cutting of the cake, bouquet toss, garter belt toss, first dance, and various other customs.  An extremely experienced photographer will know how to speed up his shutter to freeze the bouquet and garter mid flight so it isn't blurry.  And slow down for the first dance to give it a soft dreamy effect.  Or a close up of the tear running down the Bride or Grooms cheek as they look into the eyes of their future spouse.  All of which adding beautiful photos to your wedding album.
